DCM & the BFI unite for LFF Cinime app

Digital Cinema Media (DCM) has teamed up with the BFI to promote this year’s BFI London Film Festival, in partnership with American Express®, through its Cinime app. This enhances users’ experience at the festival by making new movie content available for a selection of top films in the build-up and during the course of the event.

Developed by the cinema industry for the cinema industry, the Cinime app, created by DCM and Yummi, aims to entertain and engage people before and after the movies. The app harnesses bespoke audio watermarking and image recognition technology to deliver and unlock brand and film-related content on smartphones.

Users of the Cinime app will receive a notification alerting them that new content will be made available during this year’s BFI London Film Festival, which runs from 8th – 19th October. Subsequently, each day during the event the Main Menu Carousel in the app will update automatically to feature a new movie that is being showcased at the festival.

A user will then be able to click on this and unlock two goodies, such as the trailer and a synopsis of the film, as well as an exclusive red carpet video. All unlocked goodies will be shareable on social media and all of the content will then be saved in one BFI London Film Festival Goodie bag in the app at the end of the event.
