The trailer for the latest instalment in the Child’s Play series, Cult of Chucky, has arrived online.
The killer doll is back to cause havoc and commit more murders on 23rd October 2017 when Cult of Chucky is released on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital. Cult of Chucky is the seventh film in the series and the follow-up to 2013’s well-received Curse of Chucky.
As per the official synopsis, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) has spent four years in a mental institution after members of her family were murdered, a crime she did not commit. Her psychiatrist gives her a Good Guy doll as a therapeutic tool. Soon afterwards, a new string of murders take place around the asylum, making Nica suspect that Chucky (voiced by Brad Dourif), the possessed doll behind the crimes she was accused of and whom she has concluded is a figment of her imagination, is behind her predicament. Meanwhile Andy (Alex Vincent), Chucky’s old nemesis and original child victim, comes to Nica’s aid, while dealing with Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), Chucky’s former wife.
The trailer suggests that Cult of Chucky is going to be a whole lot of fun as it combines characters from across the entire series. Don Mancini has written and directed the movie.
