Get ready be be scared! A brand new first-look trailer and poster artwork has been revealed for Slender Man.
The film stars Joey King, Julia Goldani-Telles, Jaz Sinclair, Annalise Basso and Javier Botet. Slender Man is directed by Sylvain White and written by David Birke. It’s all based on a character by Victor Surge.
In a small town in Massachusetts, four high school girls perform a ritual in an attempt to debunk the lore of Slender Man. When one of the girls goes mysteriously missing, they begin to suspect that she is, in fact, his latest victim.
Slender Man has been a legend for some time now. Victor Surge (real name Eric Knudsen) entered an online comp and created two ghostly images of children with a shadowy creature named Slender Man on Photoshop.
The photographs became really popular and spawned numerous works of fiction and games by expanding on the character and his story. His creation soon went viral and now the Slender Man is making his way to cinema screens, even though Knudsen doesn’t really go on the internet very much these days and hasn’t, himself, expanded on the mythos he created. Now in his mid-30s, he lives with his wife and child in Florida.
Slender Man is produced by Bradley J. Fischer, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Robyn Meisinger and Sarah Snow.
Slender Man debuts in cinemas on 18th May 2018 – perfect for if you have no intention of watching the Royal Wedding or the F.A. Cup Final that weekend!
