Former EastEnders star has been confirmed to play Angel in the forthcoming comic book movie X-Men: Apocalypse.
Two first-look images have been released for the character showing him with and without his wings. Hardy was linked to X-Men: Apocalypse after announcing his departure from EastEnders but the details of his character hadn’t been released until now.
Angel last appeared in the X-Men movies back in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand portrayed by Ben Foster. The character hasn’t featured on the big screen singe.
X-Men: Apocalypse will see the return of James McAvoy’s Professor X, Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique and Nicholas Hoult’s Beast, along with newcomers Hardy, Isaac, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler.
X-Men: Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer, is due to open in cinemas in 2016. Take a look at the first-look Angel images below:
