Avengers: Endgame smashes ticket records for Odeon

We are fast approaching the cinematic release of Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame. The blockbuster movie has had fans waiting patiently for ticket pre-sales, which finally opened earlier this week and proved to be a massive hit.

The box office for Odeon was huge despite the site having crashed due to so many people clamouring to get tickets. It became Odeon’s fastest-selling tickets ever!

Hulk-sized ticket sales meant Odeon Cinemas were selling 30 tickets every 10 seconds as Marvel fans rushed in to see the final chapter of the Avengers saga at the cinema of their choice.

The highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame is released on Thursday 25th April. Certain cinemas are also doing midnight screenings (on the evening of Wednesday 23rd April).

With a runtime of over 3 hours, Avengers: Endgame is going to be an epic watch, but if you’re up to the challenge you can find certain cinemas doing a double bill of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, with Infinity War starting earlier in the evening on Wednesday 23rd and then following up with the midnight screenings of Endgame starting as the clock strikes midnight on Thursday 24th.

Odeon will be holding thousands of screenings of the film on opening weekend alone across 120 cinemas in the UK & Ireland, and is adding extra screenings to ensure tickets are still available.

So far, the regions with most opening weekend tickets sold are London, Manchester, Dublin, Glasgow and then Liverpool, with one in every 4 tickets sold by Odeon being for IMAX screenings, with thousands more booking for ODEON Luxe, iSense, Dolby Cinema and 3D screenings.

With such big ticket sales, this places Avengers: Endgame ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi in advance box-office.

Chris Bates, Commercial Director at Odeon UK & Ireland said;

“We can’t wait to host thousands of Marvel fans for the opening weekend. We are going all out to make the arrival of this new film an incredible cinematic experience – and are urging fans to pre-book their tickets for Avengers: Endgame to avoid disappointment!”

Starting back in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has created a spectacular selection of films, all of which have all been leading up to Avengers: Endgame. The much-awaited film will be the final chapter seeing the Avengers in their quest to save their world and challenge Thanos following his deadly finger-snap in the previous film.
