Avengers: Endgame shatters the global box-office with record-breaking numbers

Marvel fans have made sure Avengers: Endgame has broken box-office records around the globe.
The film started off well after thousands of sold-out midnight shows on Wednesday 24th, going into Thursday 25th April.

Avengers: Endgame has become the UK and Ireland’s biggest opening ever with £43.7M. It’s the highest grossing opening day film of all time at the box-office, and highest ever grossing single day at the box-office too.

With a reported global take of $1.2 Billion, Avengers: Endgame has shattered all projections and is set to become the biggest film of all time (and it’s still not even been out for a full week yet!)

These astronomical numbers has seen Avengers: Endgame surpass records set by James Bond’s Spectre and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Here are just some of Avengers: Endgame’s achievements at the box-office;

Biggest opening of all time – £43.75M (previously held by Spectre who had 7 day holiday opening)

Biggest opening day of all time (Thursday 25th April) – £11.9M (previously held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens)

Biggest day of all time (Saturday 27th April) – £12.05M (previously held by Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War)

Biggest Sunday of all time (Sunday 28th April) – £10.2M (previously held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens)

With a runtime of over 3 hours, Avengers: Endgame has been an epic watch, but the demand to see the film early has been unprecedented. We live in a spoiler-filled world, especially with social media. Game of Thrones fans also experience this, so a lot of the box-office is attributed to those who wanted to make sure they weren’t getting any spoilers before seeing the end of this phase of the MCU on the big screen.

Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame is ground-breaking blockbuster cinema and looks to be getting stronger with every passing day.

Avengers: Endgame is in cinemas now.
