2019 BAFTAs: The Favourite sweeps the board with seven wins

The EE British Academy Film Awards 2019 took place last night in London and the winners, for the most part, followed the trend of the other film awards that have taken this year.

The Favourite lead the pack with seven wins taking home Outstanding British Film, Leading Actress for Olivia Colman, Supporting Actress for Rachel Weisz, Original Screenplay, Costume Design, Production Design, and Make Up & Hair.

Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma was the nearest competitor with four wins picking up Best Film, Director, Film Not in the English Language and Cinematography.

Elsewhere Rami Malek continued his awards streak taking home Best Actor for Bohemian Rhapsody while Mahershala Ali won Best Supporting Actor for Green Book. A Star is Born was largely snubbed but did pick up the award for Best Original Music.

The awards were hosted by Joanna Lumley and held at Londonā€™s Royal Albert Hall. They featured performances by Cirque du Soleil and Jess Gillam.
