Conviction 1×02 Bridge and Tunnel Vision preview

In the Conviction pilot Hayes Morrison (Hayley Atwell), a lawyer and daughter of a former President, found herself in an awkward situation. Having been arrested for possession of cocaine she was thrown a lifeline by her adversary Conner Wallace (Eddie Cahill), the New York County District Attorney.

Conner blackmailed Hayes into leading a new Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU) in return for the charges against her being dropped. Reluctantly she agreed to the deal in order to save the public embarrasment it would cause herself and her family.

The job of the CIU is to re-examine cases where there is suspicion of wrongful conviction. Hayes team includes Assistant District Attorney Sam Spencer (Shawn Ashmore), former NYPD detective Maxine Bohen (Merrin Dungey), paralegal Tess Larson (Emily Kinney) and forensic technician Franklin Cruz (Manny Montana).

Hayes first case is to look into Odell Dwyerm, a former high school football player who has been imprisoned for eight years for the murder of his girlfriend. After examining all the evidence the team were able to prove that he was not the murderer.

The next episode of the season is Bridge and Tunnel Vision. Hayes revisits the investigation that made Wallace’s career, only for new revelations to result in shocking repercussions.
