Season one of Conviction, from ABC Studios, kicks off in the UK tomorrow night on Sky Living. The show is a legal thriller co-created by Liz Friedman (House, Elementary) and Liz Friedlander (Take the Lead). We’re getting it about a month behind the U.S. so beware of spoilers.
Conviction tells the story of Hayes Morrison (Hayley Atwell), the brilliant but rebellious daughter of a former President, who is blackmailed into taking a job as the head of New York’s newly created Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU).
Hayes, along with her team of lawyers, investigators and forensic experts, work together to examine cases where there’s credible suspicion that the wrong person may have been convicted of a crime. The CIU team are bold, outspoken, dedicated and opinionated, and don’t always get along, but their clashes are nothing compared to what they deal with outside the unit.

Conviction also stars Eddie Cahill (CSI: NY), Shawn Ashmore (X Men), Merrin Dungey (Alias), Emily Kinney (The Walking Dead), Manny Montana (Graceland) and Daniel Franzese (Looking).
The official synopsis for the Conviction pilot episode reads:
“Hayley Atwell (Marvel’s Agent Carter) stars in a provocative legal thriller as Hayes Morrison – lawyer and last chance for those failed by the system.”
