Duo Dan + Shay – Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney – enjoyed a massive breakthrough with their radio-ready single 19 You + Me in 2013, which was certified platinum in the US and gave them their first Top 10 hit.
Dan + Shay met one another in Nashville in 2012 and began songwriting together. Their first collaboration was put on hold for Rascal Flatts and the duo signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music after being together for only two months.
Their debut single 19 You + Me followed a year later and in 2014 Dan + Shay released their debut album Where It All Began. The album topped the US Country Chart and performed strongly here in the UK too peaking at number 14.
Two more singles were released from the record – Show You Off and Nothin’ Like You – further solidifying the duo’s position as one of the most buzzworthy breakthrough acts in the Country music genre. Fans didn’t have to wait long for a follow-up album with Obsessed arriving in 2016.
The lead single from Obsessed was From The Ground Up, the second platinum selling hit for the duo. Dan + Shay continued to combine traditional and modern country rhythms on Obsessed, while pushing their sound into new areas too.
The duo’s current single is How Not To, which is currently climbing up the US charts and threatening to break into the Top 20. They’ve also scored a hit with When I Pray For You, which is taken from the soundtrack to The Shack.
Having performed in the UK before, Dan + Shay will be returning to open up the main stage on the second day of C2C: Country to Country in London on Saturday 11th March 2017.
