Dr Gareth Dylan Smith has released his first book I Drum, Therefore I Am.
The drum tutor and Diploma Programme Leader at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London has written the book about drummers offering an academic account of what it takes to be a drummer. Teachers, musicians and academics will find much to enjoy as they gain a deeper understanding of the central core of the majority of music.
The book looks at the stereotypes of drummers and explores how they see themselves. Dr Smith also explores gender and ethnicity as they relate to the experiences of musicians.
