The latest episode of Blindspot tried something new by splitting the team up and trying to run each of their stories at the same time.
The episode opened up with Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and Roman (Luke Mitchell) sparring. Weller hoped that training in a similar way to what Jane (Jaimie Alexander) did would jog his memory. Sadly it didn’t and Roman wasn’t happy with his sister for forcing him to keep the memory of killing Taylor Shaw’s mother secret.
Patterson (Ashley Johnson) used the information from Rich Dotcom to solve another tattoo. It pointed to a coin from 1776 which was used as a symbol by a dark web courier that used the name Lelantos. Patterson was also able to link it to another tattoo.
The tattoos pointed at different leads so Weller decided to split the team up. He paired himself with Roman to go and investigate a spa. Jane was paired with Tasha (Audrey Esparza) to question a prisoner named Marc Gelman.
Gelman said he couldn’t help but they felt he was hiding something. Next they headed out to an auction house connected to Lelantos. After a brief chat with the female owner they were caught up in a shoot-out and she escaped.
Patterson found another link between the tattoos that pointed at a Cartel. She headed out to investigate with Reade (Rob Brown) after he arrived late to work. During a confrontation with a Cartel member Reade wasn’t concentrating and almost got himself killed. Fortunately for him, Patterson saved his life.
Weller went to investigate the spa and had Roman pose as his bodyguard. Once inside Roman instigated a confrontation with one of the staff to get his key fob. Once alone they were able to get through a secure door to find out what was going on.
They discovered that Lelantos was capturing people and using them for organ transplants. The woman from the auction house turned up and Weller and Roman found themselves captured. The rest of the team arrived to rescue them. Read shot the woman to save Zapata.
Elsewhere in the episode, Weller warned Jane to be careful of her new boyfriend Oliver. She later had Zapata look into him and discovered he had changed his name some years earlier. When he came around for dinner she asked him about it and he promptly left in a rage.
Reade continued to suffer with his new girlfriend by taking drugs. It’s what made him sleep in and be late to work. Patterson confronted him about it after recognising the signs that he was using. She urged him to get help but he angrily denied his problem.
At the end of the episode, Nas (Archie Panjabi) went to a drop from her source inside Sandstorm. Once back in her car she hadn’t noticed someone in the back seat. As she went to open the package the mystery person began to choke her with a wire.
The next episode is Evil Did I Dwell, Lewd Did I Live and here’s the official synopsis:
With Nas’s (Archie Panjabi) help, Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and Jane (Jaimie Alexander) finally come face-to-face with Nas’s inside source within Sandstorm, and square off with an old foe.
