Better Call Saul 3×05 Chicanery preview

The drug war continued on the latest episode of Better Call Saul with Hector (Mark Margolis) and Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) going up against each other.

Hector was left humiliated when Gus sent a larger tribute to Don Eladio (Steven Bauer) earning his favour. In retaliation Hector confronted Gus at Los Pollos Hermanos forcing the restaurant to close while the two argued it out.

Gus was threatened by Hector and instructed to carry his drugs following the closure of Hector’s previous smuggling route.

Meanwhile Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) and Kim (Rhea Seehorn) went up against Chuck (Michael McKean) and Howard (Patrick Fabian) at a hearing with the ADA to finalise Jimmy’s confession. Jimmy agreed to let his confession be reviewed by the New Mexico Bar Association and he apologised to his brother.

After the hearing Kim confronted Chuck and Howard accusing them of having a copy of the tape, which they confirmed. Chuck revealed his plan to submit the tape as evidence in Jimmy’s hearing. Initially that didn’t look good for Jimmy but when Kim told him, it appeared to be all part of their plan.

Elsewhere Mike (Jonathan Banks) went undercover for Jimmy to get photos of Chuck’s living conditions and he returned money to Gus, which resulted in him being considered for a job.

The next episode of the season is Chicanery. Kim and Jimmy face off with an adversary; Jimmy looks to Chuck’s past to secure his future; Jimmy loses an ally and gains another.
