The Peter Serafinowicz Show started way back in October 2007. It was a good opportunity for the young comedian to establish himself as a solo act having already become a huge cult favourite in comedy series such as Spaced, Black Books and How Do You Want Me? Serafinowicz also has an amazing voice and has done quite a bit of vocal work in his time - his most notable being Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace. His most recent big-screen role was in the star-studded Couples Retreat where he simply stole the show… no mean feat considering he was up against comedy heavyweights like Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman and John Favreau.

The Peter Serafinowicz Show is a mixed bag of comedy content that primarily pokes fun at our viewing trends. He creates a flurry of fast paced sketches which feature some memorable characters that reoccur during the entire series. The best of the bunch being Michael-6, a robot chat show host and Kennedy St. King, an annoying American gossip show host. Brian Butterfield, a hapless compensation lawyer also has some very funny stints. Serafinowicz does some interesting stuff with Sherlock Holmes who has an inappropriate fixation with Watson and Derek Bum, a loud salesman who fronts the Kitchen Gun infomercials… BANG, BANG, BANG and the sink is clean!

This DVD features lots of additional extras including deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes documentary about the show and a commentary on episodes 3 and 6.

The Peter Serafinowicz Show is an imaginative series that really showcases his natural comedic talent. He manages to keep the series fresh with some well observed sketches and his natural ability to change his voice is staggering. The sketches do sometimes lull in places but on the whole, this is a lost gem of sketch comedy that is hilarious, topical and well worth your time.
