Homeland: The Complete Second Season DVD review

The second season of Homeland has today been released on DVD and Blu-ray.

For all Homeland fans, this is a must-buy. The Emmy-award winning show has had viewers gripped from the moment we were introduced to Agent Brody and and Carrie Mathison at the beginning of last year. Season 2 is no different.

We begin Season Two with Agent Brody (Damian Lewis), now an U.S. Congressman, trying to juggle everything – mending his relationship with his family, and his secret life as a terrorist. Carrie Mathison’s life (Clare Danes), however, is some-what different. Having been in a mental hospital, she still hankers after Brody, and is still trying to convince people that he’s a terrorist. When a new terrorist threat is discovered, the CIA bring Carrie back to work with them.

Carrie has a mission: Tail Brody and get close to him. She does this, but decides to confront him and this forces the CIA to intervene. Brody is put in a dark room and is interrogated. The interrogation is both interesting and horrible and is done in such a way that one forgets it’s not real-life!  Does he admit to being a terrorist? Does he admit to plot against his country?

The romantic relationship between Brody and Carrie develops in this season, and we watch whilst his marriage to his wife crumbles as a result.

Season Two is a mix of pain, interrogation, deceit and paranoia. The twist and turns has us wanting to watch more episodes right away, and the season finale has us wanting more!

The special features are amazing! With Deleted Scenes, A personal video diary by Damian Lewis, a Prologue to Season 3, a feature about filming in Israel, and The Making of the Season Finale – it’s a Homeland fan’s dream!

Homeland Season 2 is out now on DVD and Blu-ray.
