Tristan MacManus won’t be returning to Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing professional Tristan MacManus has confirmed that he won’t be returning to the show this autumn.

In an interview with MacManiacs.org Tristan revealed the news after admitting he’d decided that the show ‘is not for me’. He went on to explain, ‘I think the show needs someone a lot different to me on the show to get what they want, and I need something a lot different to make me happy and get what I want out of it.’

Tristan joined the show in 2014 and danced with Mrs Brown’s Boys actress Jennifer Gibney. For his second season in 2015, Tristan was paired with singer and presenter Jamelia and he had a very up-and-down run landing in the bottom two on several occasions.

The news means that Tristan will be the fourth pro dancer not returning to the series this year. Ola Jordan, Kristina Rihanoff and Aliona Vilani all have confirmed that they will not be part of the line-up when the show kicks off again in September.

It is not known yet who will be replacing the departing pros or if any others pros will also be departing the show.

Strictly Come Dancing is due to return to BBC One this September.
