Top 5 Strictly Come Dancing 2014 week 3 dances

Last night Strictly Come Dancing’s Movie Week really delivered on spectacle and entertainment didn’t it?

With guest judge Donny Osmond adding a lot of enthusiasm to the panel, the 14 couples danced their socks off to secure their place in next week’s live show. The quality of the dancing is really, really mixed this year and there’s the potential for some of the celebs to really progress over the coming weeks.

As always we’ve cast our critical eye over last night’s performances and chosen our Top 5. They don’t necessarily agree with the judges but look who made it into our Top 5.

5. Mark Wright & Karen Hauer

It may not have been one of the best dances technically but Mark Wright’s Paso Doble was so entertaining. He really did think he was Superman and got lost in the energy and excitement. It was a superb close to the show and we loved Karen Hauer’s inventive choreography.

4. Steve Backshall & Ola Jordan

Welcome back to the competition Steve! After a poor cha cha in week 2, Steve pulled it back last night with a Jungle Book inspired Quickstep. Steve and Ola are now officially back in the game and we loved it almost as much as Darcey loved Steve’s arms.

3. Caroline Flack & Pasha Kovalev

Now that’s how you do a Rumba people! Is there anything that Caroline can’t do on the dancefloor? We have to ask how anyone can concentrate on their steps when they have a half-naked Pasha dancing around in front of them. Stunning routine!

2. Sunetra Sarker & Brendan Cole

Casualty star Sunetra may have lacked confidence before the series started but she’s really gaining it now. 3 weeks in and Sunetra is without a doubt the dark horse of the competition. Her partnership with Brendan Cole is really working and last night’s American Smooth was effortless.

1. Frankie Bridge & Kevin Clifton

The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge just gets better and better. Last night she topped the leaderboard for her West Side Story themed Paso Doble with partner Kevin Clifton. Frankie picked up the first 10 of the series thanks to Donny Osmond and we predict that she’s going to go really far.

Tune in to BBC One tonight at 7.20pm to see who leaves Strictly Come Dancing during the results show.
