Thom Evans leaves Strictly Come Dancing 2014

Former rugby star Thom Evans is the fourth celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing 2014.

During tonight’s results show Thom and his pro partner Iveta Lukosiute found themselves in the dance-off against Blue star Simon Webbe and his pro partner Kristina Rihanoff. It’s the second time that Simon and Kristina have been in the bottom two this series.

After both couples performed again the judges cast their votes. Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell both chose to save Thom and Iveta. Bruno Tonioli chose to save Simon and Kristina meaning that head judge Len Goodman had the casting vote.

Len said, ā€œI look at the footwork and the feet and the couple with the cleanest footwork were Simon and Kristina so that is the couple I am saving.ā€

Talking about his departure from the show Thom said, ā€œThis experience exceeded all my expectations; it is one of the best experiences of my life. From the judges to the other contestants to the backroom staff, everyone does such a brilliant job and helps you feel confident going into every show. I also want to thank my partner Iveta. She has been immensely patient over these last couple of weeks and she couldnā€™t have worked harder. I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart.ā€

Tonight’s results show also featured a performance from Culture Club singing Karma Chameleon and the Strictly pro dancers took to the floor to perform a spectacular barn dance.

Strictly Come Dancing 2014 continues with a Halloween special on Saturday 1st November at BBC One. Check out all the action from tonight’s results show below:
