If you havenā€™t seen the season 2 finale of The Following then stop reading now so we donā€™t spoil anything. If you have seen it and want the scoop keep reading.

Talking to Give Me My Remote, Siega teased some interesting details about the showā€™s upcoming third season. In the interview Siega confirmed that Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) wonā€™t be breaking out of prison in season 3 and that the new season ā€˜wonā€™t be about Joeā€™.

Fans shouldnā€™t worry as Joe will still be part of the series but Siega explained, ā€œHis role will be about closing out that chapter and how that impacts Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon). And then weā€™re able to reinvent the show, without changing the DNA of the show.ā€

Siega revealed that the create team werenā€™t 100% certain of the identity of the person who picked up Mark (Sam Underwood) at the end of the season: ā€œThere are specific ideas. I hate to say we know for sure, because ā€” I could say yes, but things change. I like the idea that we are now going to sit down and see if thatā€™s the best way to go.ā€

Other juicy details revealed are that Claire (Natalie Zea) wonā€™t have an active role in season 3, the show wonā€™t turn into a buddy show where Ryan and Joe work together, and Mark will be back.
