Sophie Ellis-Bextor has teamed up with Walkers crisps to launch their new snack Walkers Pops.
For the launch Sophie experienced a gravity-defying experience on a ZERO-G flight from the space exploration centre of Houston, Texas. The experiment took place on a specially-modified Boeing-727 which completed a series of 12 maneuvers known as ‘parabolas’.
Building from ālunarā and āmartianā conditions, proving one third and one sixth of normal body weight, Sophie then experienced completed weightlessness as she floated alongside the new Walkers Pops. Taking snacking where it has never gone before, Sophie flipped upside down and soared in zero gravity whilst enjoying the new snack.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor said: āI donāt think anything can beat that first feeling of weightlessness! I had no control over my limbs when I was just spinning around but it felt gorgeous and is certainly the most bonkers place I’ve ever eaten a crispā.
āIt feels a bit like Iām following in my mumās footsteps as she became a qualified skydiver while working for Blue Peter and sheās a real fan of trying new things. It was certainly a challenge to be graceful while floating around the cabin but hopefully I pulled it off. My kids were really excited to see the pictures, they canāt quite believe that mum endured the same conditions that astronauts train inā.
Walkers Pops are air-popped rather than fried giving them full on flavour with 50% less fat than standard potato crisps. They are available in four flavours – Original, Sour Cream and Onion, Melted Cheese and Crispy Bacon, and Prawn Cocktail.
