Paloma Faith, Boy George join The Voice UK

Paloma Faith and Boy George are joining the The Voice UK for its upcoming fifth series.

The two international stars will join returning judges Ricky Wilson and will.i.am on the new series. Rita Ora left the show after one series to join The X Factor and Sir Tom Jones has been axed from the show, leaving the star disappointed and upset.

Speaking about their new coach roles on The Voice UK, Boy George says, ā€œI’m thrilled and excited to be a coach on The Voice UK. I’m a huge fan of the show and have watched and engaged with it from series one. If I can help someone to win I will be delighted. What a wonderful opportunity to share my experiences and help someone move forward with their musical career. I can’t wait to sit in that chair!ā€

Paloma Faith adds, ā€œIā€™m really excited about working with creative people who are there not just to be great singers, but also innovative personalities and performers. I have a long history of helping break artists as in my club nights I booked Kate Nash, Adele, and The Noisettes before they hit the big time, and four of my band members have gone on to pursue successful solo careers. Iā€™m really looking forward to getting my teeth into something that cultivates the talents of another person and takes the focus off myself for a bit.ā€

Emma Willis and Marvin Humes will return to the show as hosts and the show is set to return in January 2016.

Moira Ross, The Voice UK Executive Producer, says: ā€œSeries five looks set to be our liveliest yet: four iconic superstars all with very big personalities. I feel sure weā€™re on track for another fantastic series.ā€

Stevie McCrorie was crowned the 2015 winner of the show and his debut single Lost Stars reached number six in the UK and number one in Scottish charts. His debut album will be released before the end of the year.
