Holly Tandy and Rai-Elle Williams leave The X Factor

The X Factor 2017 continued tonight as the competition heats up. The remaining contestants were singing to remain in the competition and secure a place on next week’s semi-final. Tonight’s show also included a live performance from Fergie.

Whilst Rak-Su and Grace Davies secured the highest votes this week and breezed through it was not as easy for others as a further two acts were eliminated.

Rai-Elle was back with all that fire this week and delivered a great performance. I thought she did a great job rapping and pulled together a great routine. This was one of her best performances yet but unfortunately the public disagreed and voted her out of the show.

What the judges said: Louis said that he loved everything Rai-Elle Nicole thought that she reminded her of a young ‘British Lauren Hill’ and Simon added that he thought she was getting better and better every week.

You can relive Rai-Elle’s performance of Mr Big Stuff below:

It was also the end of the road for Holly, who failed to receive enough votes to be on next week’s show. Holly did sound great tonight and this was probably the first time she sounded her age. Holly’s vocals were good but this week the young singer finally seemed to come out of her shell and proved that she was a real contender on the show too, which is why I am sad to see her go.

What the judges said: Simon thought that Holly came back fighting and sounded younger this week. Nicole said that she had a big voice but did not like her style on stage. Louis thought that Holly could be in trouble tonight but mentor, Sharon thought she did herself proud!

You can watch her last performance on the show below:

The X Factor semi-final will air live on TV next week on ITV.
