Kevin Williamson has stepped down as The Followingās show runner ahead of the upcoming third season.
Deadline reports that the showās creator will remain involved in the show but Jennifer Johnson (Lost) will now take over running the show. This is believed to be because Williamsonās new show Stalker will be beginning on CBS this autumn.
The Following had a rocky second season opening in the US with 10.4 million viewers but shedding more than half of those by the end of the season.
It is expected that the third season of the show will be a reboot of sorts with Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) back behind bars and Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) still on the trail of killer twin Mark (Sam Underwood).
