The National Television Awards took place last night at London’s O2 Arena and EastEnders scooped top honours.
The soap picked up the awards for Serial Drama, Newcomer for Maddy Hill aka Nancy Carter and Serial Best Drama Performance for Danny Dyer aka Mick Carter. Other winners on the night included The X Factor for Talent Show, This Morning for Daytime and The Great British Bake Off for Skills Challenge Show.
Ant & Dec picked up Entertainment Presenter for the 14th consecutive year.
David Tennant was surprised when he was announced as the recipient of the Special Recognition Award. The actor looked visibly shocked when the announcement was made before taking to the stage to collect his award.
