Coronation Street leads NTA winners

The 19th annual National Television Awards too place tonight at London’s O2 Arena.

TV’s biggest stars came out in force for the evening with Coronation Street taking top honours beating its rivals to the Serial Drama Gong. Julie Hesmondhalgh, whos plays Hayley Cropper in the show, picked up the award for Serial Drama Performance.

Elsewhere Strictly Come Dancing walked away with the award for Talent Show whilst Ant & Dec won Entertainment Presenter for the 13th consecutive year. The Geordie duo also picked up the Landmark Award which was presented by Phillip Schofield.

The awards were voted for by the public and hosted by Dermot O’Leary. The show aired live on ITV.
