Birds of a Feather has been recommissioned for a second series on ITV.
The show returned after 16 years for an 8 episode run earlier this year broadcasting for the first time on ITV. It pulled in ratings averaging 8 million per week and was ITV’s most successful comedy launch in over a decade.
Birds of a Feather saw original cast members Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph return as Sharon, Tracey and Dorian.
ITVās Director of Comedy and Entertainment Elaine Bedell said āWeāre very pleased that the brilliant chemistry between these three great actresses once again attracted the large and loyal audience that Birds of a Feather deserves. The writers and producers have done a fantastic job in making the show feel funny, fresh and relevant. ā
The show’s original writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran will continue to write the new series with Gary Lawson and John Phelps.
Birds of a Feather will return for 8 new episodes in 2015 with filming expected to start later this year.
