10 reasons Kylie will rule The Voice UK

The Voice UK hasnā€™t been one of our favourite shows since it began airing in 2012. We have to admit we were a little bit bored of singing shows but seeing the energy the US mentors had we were hopeful it was going to be different.

After the blind auditions though it all got a bit samey and the failure of the first series to deliver a commercial star didnā€™t go unnoticed. 2013ā€™s second series was marginally better but the coaches were just that bit bland and seemingly not enjoying themselves either.

With Jessie J and Danny Oā€™Donoghue having left to concentrate on their music careers, we were delighted when Kylie Minogue was announced as one of the new coaches. It even made up for the fact that Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson was randomly selected to complete the panel too.

Ahead of Kylieā€™s debut on the show this weekend, here are our 10 reason why we think Kylie is going to be the best coach the show has seen yet.

  1. Kylie is a pop legend who has first-hand experience of the ups and downs of the music industry so sheā€™ll have plenty of great advice to share with the contestants.
  2. She understands that being a pop icon is much more than just making good music and has consistently changed her image, her sound and carefully controlled her own brand.
  3. She knows how to come back with a bang and get people talking e.g. Spinning Around and Canā€™t Get You Out Of My Head.
  4. Sheā€™s a tough cookie and can help her contestants toughen up to face the inevitably challenging road ahead.
  5. Despite being one of the most famous women on the planet Kylie is still the girl-next-door so sheā€™ll be able to help her contestants keep their feet on the ground.
  6. Sheā€™s had experience working on reality shows before having helped her sister Dannii out on The X Factor and weā€™re sure Dannii has given her a bit of coaching ahead of her role on The Voice UK.
  7. Kylie puts on the most spectacular live shows so sheā€™ll be the most clued up coach when it comes to working on the staging of her contestantsā€™ performances.
  8. Sheā€™s experienced incredible longevity scoring hits over four decades so sheā€™ll be invested in making sure her contestants arenā€™t a flash in the pan.
  9. Kylieā€™s popularity and remarkable career will ensure that viewers, as well as contestants, listen to what she has to say as she knows what sheā€™s talking about.
  10. The most important reason of all. Sheā€™s bloody Kylie!

Tune into The Voice UK on Saturday night at 7pm on BBC One and BBC One HD to see Kylie make her debut.
