Tim McArthur stars in Brecht classic

Lazarus Theatre Company have announced that Tim McArthur makes his Lazarus debut playing the role of Azdak the Judge in Bertolt Brecht’s The Caucasian Chalk Circle in a translation by Frank McGuinness.

The play will be performed at the Jack Studio Theatre, Brockley, from 23rd February – 12th March, every Tuesday – Saturday at 7.45pm.

“I am delighted to be appearing in The Caucasian Chalk Circle for Ricky Dukes and Lazarus Theatre Company having been a fan of their work for many years. It’s such a honour and a privilege to be playing the part of Azdak in this exciting new production. In recent years my work as an actor has been dominated by comedy roles, so it’s great to get my teeth back into something darker and a little more challenging,” Tim McArthur said.

Tim’s theatre credits include: Maurice in Bathhouse (Above the Stag); Sam Byck in Assassins (Pleasance); Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered and Classic Moments: Hidden Treasures (Jermyn Street Theatre); Silence The Musical and Blink (Above the Stag); Blair on Broadway (Arts Theatre); Company (Palace Theatre, Westcliffe); Fred Astaire: His Daughter’s Tribute (London Palladium). Tim has also supported Graham Norton, Julian Clary and Bobby Davro. As Sister Mary McArthur appearances include: West End Eurovision; Edinburgh Festival Gilded Balloon; The Graham Norton Show (BBC1); Elton John’s Christmas Party, New Space Theatre 2 (Cape Town).

Tim currently hosts The Curtain Up Show (Resonance 104.4FM) and for two years Tim hosted West End Eurovision.

Also making their Lazarus debuts are Ashleigh Cordery, who will play Grusha, Jon Tozzi (Simon), Charlotte Knowles (Governors Wife) and Paula Brett (Nanny).
