Marti Pellow to star in Evita tour

Evita will be performed at New Wimbledon Theatre in London for 6 shows only from Wednesday 15th May before embarking on a national and international tour.

Wet Wet Wet singer Marti Pellow will take on the role of Che, the show’s narrator who reflects the voice of the Argentine people as Eva Peron rises to fame. Madalena Alberto will play Eva with Mark Heenehan, Nic Gibney, Sarah McNicholas, Hannah Grover, Natalie Day, Emily Goodenough, Verity Burgess, Laura Emmitt, Lizzie Ottley, Perry Oā€™Dea, Joe Maxwell, Joel Elferink, Stuart MacIver, Joseph Connor, Ryan Pidgen, Anthony Ray, Anthony Hewitt and David Burilin completing the cast.

The synopsis for the show is:

Telling the story of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, EVITA follows Evaā€™s journey from humble beginnings through to extraordinary wealth, power and iconic status which ultimately lead her to be heralded as the ā€˜spiritual leader of the nationā€™ by the Argentine people. With more than 20 major awards to its credit, including the Oscar winning film version starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas, Evita features some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre, including Donā€™t Cry For Me Argentina, On This Night of a Thousand Stars, You Must Love Me, and Another Suitcase in Another Hall.

Evita has lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
