The Walking Dead reveals Negan-lite season 8 trailer

The first trailer for season 8 of The Walking Dead debuted during San Diego Comic Con over night.

The five-minute first look suggests that the season will feature a lot less Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) than season 7 did, which is no bad thing. From the look of the trailer, it appears the action is going to be ramped up after a disappointing season 7 that saw a huge drop in ratings.

A lot if packed into the first-look including a curious final scene showing what looks like an elderly Rick (Andrew Lincoln) on his death bed. Could the show be about to kill off it’s main star or will it be indulging in Lost-style flashforwards?

Of course it could all be a red herring so we’ll have to wait until the show returns in October to find out.

When season 8 picks up, it looks as if Rick and the group will finally kick into action in their fight against Negan and there are lots of hints as to which way that’s going to go in this trailer.

The Walking Dead season 8 kicks off on 23rd October 2017 on FOX in the UK.
