Watch The Walking Dead season 10 first look trailer below:

Season 9 really mixed things up and new showrunner Angela Kang gave the show a new lease of life. Following the end of the All Out War story of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) vs Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in season 8. Season 9 saw the departure of Rick who was last seen been evacuated in a helicopter. It also saw time pass and the communities become isolated from each other before coming together to face the new threat of The Whisperers.

Led by Alpha (Samantha Morton), The Whisperers are rather terrifying as they blend in and move unseen while wearing the faces of the dead. Towards the end of season 9, Alpha infiltrated the Kingdom’s fair and abducted ten survivors. The Whisperers murdered them and placed their heads on spikes to mark the border of their lands and serve as a warning not to cross them again. Alpha promised war if anyone was to disobey her. Alpha also showed Daryl (Norman Reedus) her secret weapon of the biggest undead horde we’ve ever seen.

Hear from the cast and crew of The Walking Dead ahead of season 10 below:

In the season 9 finale, a blizzard struck and forced the communities to flee in order to survive. Carol (Melissa McBride) proposed taking a shortcut through The Whisperer’s territory. During the blizzard, Negan redeemed himself somewhat by risking his life to save Judith (Cailey Fleming) when she ran off to find Dog. At the end of the episode a female voice was heard on Eugene’s (Josh McDermitt) radio asking “is there anyone out there?”.

The season 10 premiere is Lines We Cross. A few months have passed and it is now Spring. We pick back up with the group in Oceanside continuing to train in case the Whisperers return. Tensions are high as our heroes struggle to hold onto their concept of civilisation.

Tune in to AMC on Sunday 6th October at 9/8c in the US and FOX on Monday 7th October at 9pm in the UK to see the episode. Preview it with our gallery below:
