The Halcyon team were brought in to negotiate the release of a wealthy businessman and his family on the latest episode of The Blacklist: Redemption.
The family was taken by criminal Diego Rocha (Alex Fernandez) who wanted the return of his associate Carlos (James Martinez), whom he believed had been put in prison. Actually Carlos had been working as an informant so it was up to Tom (Ryan Eggold) to convince him to play along with their plan so the family could be released.
After handing Carlos over, Diego admitted he knew that his associate had turned on him and he allowed him to be tortured to find out what he’d told the FBI. Tom, Solomon (Edi Gathegi) and Nez (Tawny Cypress) rescued him and returned him safely to his family.
Meanwhile Tom’s identity was revealed to Scottie (Famke Janssen) by Howard (Terry O’Quinn). Earlier in the episode Tom had tried to break Howard out of the hospital he was being kept in and CCTV footage captured Tom in the act leading Halcyon to believe he was a traitor. Scottie put a hit out on him but Howard revealed the truth to save their son so she called it off.
A wealthy businessman and his entire family are abducted by professional kidnappers and the Halcyon team do everything to get them back. With time running out, the team must make a dangerous choice. Meanwhile, Tom risks his safety to rescue his father and from Scottie knowing the truth about him.
The next episode of the season is Whitehall. As tension between Howard and Scottie builds and big family secrets are exposed, Tom races to uncover the truth about Whitehall.
