A surprise visitor opened up a whole new world of secrets on the latest episode of Secrets and Lies.
Eric (Michael Ealy) was caught off guard when a man arrived at the office looking for Kate (Jordana Brewster) claiming that he had a meeting with her about investments. Realising that the man was lying, Eric discovered that he was the adoptive father of Kate’s secret child.
Tracking the man down to his home, Eric recognised his wife Belinda (Romy Rosemont) as the woman they couldn’t identify from the video taken the night Kate died. Belinda came clean about Kate trying to get access to her son but admitted that she had denied her requests as she feared it would take her adopted son away from her.
Kate’s son Charlie (Cody Longo) revealed that he knew who Kate was and that he’d seen her and Eric outside the office one day after he’d done some digging of his own.
Adamant that she had no part in Kate’s death, Belinda told Eric to check the security tapes but he told her they had been erased. Belinda recalled seeing a woman acting suspiciously on the night and led Eric to his sister-in-law Melanie (AnnaLynne McCord) who had threatened him earlier in the episode.
Eric discovered that Melanie and Patrick (Charlie Barnett) had taken out a line of credit against the business without his knowledge.
Elsewhere Cornell (Juliette Lewis) faced pressure at work as the anniversary of her former partner’s death arrived and she argued with both her drug addict daughter and ex-husband.
The next episode of the season is The Statement. Patrick’s secret sins come home to roost. Detective Cornell and Ethan wrestle with their guilt over their daughter Jennifer.
