Jason Blossom’s (Trevor Stines) killer was finally revealed on this week’s episode of Riverdale and plenty of secrets came out with it.
Following F.P.’s (Skeet Ulrich) arrest, it looked like Jason’s killer had been caught when he confessed to the whole thing giving details of how he dumped the body. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) visited his father in prison and suspected whilst talking to him that he wasn’t telling the truth.
Meanwhile Betty (Lili Reinhart) was shocked to learn that it was her father Hal (Lochlyn Munro) who had stolen Sheriff Keller’s (Martin Cummins) evidence board to try and prevent anything linking back to Polly (Tiera Skovbye). He revealed that he’s actually a Blossom meaning that Polly and Jason had unknowingly committed incest.
The Coopers stormed the Blossom household and took Polly home while revealing the ugly truth of their past family history.
Jughead’s instinct about his father proved to be true and he assembled Betty, Archie (K.J. Apa), Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Kevin (Casey Cott) to help him uncover what really happened. Their first port of call was Joaquin (Rob Raco) who admitted that he thought F.P. had killed it but lead the group to fellow Serpent Mustang (Chris Rosamond) who they discovered dead in a bath tub.
The police found a bag of money in Mustang’s apartment and they had the initials of Veronica’s father on them. Joaquin redirected the group to the hiding place of Jason’s jacket and Betty found a USB drive inside it that had footage of the murder.
After watching the footage, Betty called Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and told her to leave the house but she didn’t listen. Instead Cheryl strutted up to her parents and informed Clifford (Barclay Hope) that everyone knew what he had done.
That’s right folks, Clifford murdered his own son! What about F.P.’s confession? Turns out Clifford threatened to kill Jughead if F.P. didn’t confess and take the fall.
The police arrived to arrest Clifford after Alice (Madchen Amick) turned in to the USB drive and they found him hung in the maple syrup barn surrounded by open barrels, which contained drugs.
The how and why is yet to be answered but suffice to say that Jason’s killer won’t be facing justice any time soon!
The season finale is Chapter Thirteen: The Sweet Hereafter. The truth about Blossom’s family business is revealed leaving Cheryl to take matters into her own hands.
