Ray (Liev Schreiber) tried to balance keeping Mickey (Jon Voight) safe in prison with solving a cold case involving a high profile actor on the latest episode of Ray Donovan.
The Armenians hired someone to go into prison with the aim of killing Mickey. Thanks to a series of mishaps Mickey managed to stay alive and the would-be assassin accidentally killed his cellmate instead. With Ray’s help, Mickey convinced the warden that he was gay and needed to be moved to another wing for his own protection.
Meanwhile Ray teamed up with Cochran (Hank Azaria) to find the body and murder weapon in a cold case that would result in Mickey’s freedom. Their investigation led them to TV actor Sherman Radley (Reginald VelJohnson) who had been involved in the murder with Ray’s former employer Ezra (Elliott Gould).
Elsewhere in the episode Hector (Ismael Cruz Córdova) decided to take over the gym for his training and hired Daryll (Pooch Hall) to pick up Marisol (Lisa Bonet) from rehab. That didn’t go according to plan when Marisol tricked Daryll so she could get high.
The next episode of the season is The Texan. After Marisol makes a public statement, Ray calls in Lena and Daryll for damage control.
