Pop Stars Perform Charity Gig In Covent Garden
Marie Curie Cancer Care hosted a charity "busking" gig in Covent Garden entitled Music For Mums today on the eve of Mother's Day. Stars on the bill included pop trio Girls Can't Catch, Aussie singer Gabriella Cilmi, Popstar to Operastar winner Darius Danesh and rising Opera star Camilla Kerslake.
Entertainment Focus went down to catch some of the proceedings and support the charity along with a host of unsuspecting tourists.
Girls Can't Catch opened the event and sang their hit Echo whilst Cilmi performed new single On A Mission alongside oldie Sweet About Me, and the slow burner Defender.
A real highlight was Popstar to Operastar winner Darius Danesh amusing the crowd when his stool kept sinking which meant the singer was almost knee height when he finished his opening song. The bemused crowd watched as Danesh managed to right himself and then plucked out a little girl in the audience to do a busking song from the movie Once. He finished with an opera number, The Impossible Dream and posed for photos with a Marie Curie nurse by hoisting her up in his arms.
