London based singer-songwriter Tristram can boast a claim no other artist can with the release of his new EP Someone Told Me A Poem. His record label, Oh Inverted World, was formed specifically to release his material, after Tristram performed at Oh Inverted World's London Club Night several months ago.

This four song EP creeps up on you ever so subtly and with a dreamy quality. Opening the album, title track Someone Told Me A Poem has a nice lilting feel to it with a springy acoustic guitar riff and moody cello in the background. Ballad Of The Stolen Bicycle sees Tristram tongue planted firmly in cheek, croon over the loss of his beloved bicycle in a very haunting manner.

Me And James Dean is a highlight with a ukulele accompanying Tristram's vocals and it's almost a lullaby that literally lulls you into a dreamy landscape as Tristram postulates partnering up with James Dean like a dynamic duo and nods to Public Enemy and Ice T.

Zombie Holocaust rounds off the EP with Tristram again postulating to his loved one that he would save her from a zombie holocaust. it's done in such a subtle and gentle manner that disarms the listener.

This is folk at is disarmingly best with only Tristram's bare voice and an acoustic, cello and soft drums. Let's hope we'll hear more of him this year.
