Tiffany Page - Sunday 28th February 2010 - The Roundhouse, Camden

London born Tiffany Page never imagined a life without music. First encouraged by her grandfather into taking singing lessons it wasn’t until she got her first guitar aged 14 that she discovered the joys of alternative rock. Page is now walking her own path towards rock stardom it seems. Sunday night she and her band supported The Noisettes at the roundhouse and EF was there too.

Last time we saw Tiffany Page it was at the Barfly and one of her first headline shows playing her new material. We noticed how nervous she seemed but nevertheless she delivered a good show. Sunday night though was a different story playing in front of a packed audience seems Tiffany Page forgot all about her nerves and is now completely at ease on stage. Looking like an eighties rock chick with her black outfit and denim jacket Page moved like a possessed woman on the roundhouse stage!

Page sang a range of songs we’d heard at her last gig but somehow with a bigger audience and a bigger sound system it all made sense. The chemistry between the band and Page has also improved and made for a better show. We heard Walk Away Slow Page’s debut single, which to our opinion was a little to slow and moody for the ambiance. The singer’s husky voice and melancholic tones seemed to work well with the audience.

7 Years Too Late had a great epic chorus and woke up the audience whilst I Hope He Doesn’t Know seemed to cheer everyone up with its cheeky chorus! One observation we made though is that Tiffany Page’s lyrics are intended for a younger audience as they are a little juvenile or simple at times.

Our favourite song and the highlight of the set was Heaven Ain’t Easy and its 80s rock’n’roll sound. This track has true potential and has a very catchy chorus at its core.

All in all it was a pleasant show we got from Tiffany Page. We are definitely impressed by how much more at ease this young woman seemed to be on stage. Page has a lot of potential and we really want to see it get exploited to its peak.
