15 year old Taylor Bright has a bright future ahead of her. The Philadelphia native has just released her new, self-penned debut single called Striped Socks, an ode to teen crushes. She has just undergone a tour of some local schools promoting her music and hopefully this will get the talented songstress noticed.
Striped Socks has all the hallmarks of a teen anthem. Her soft and infectious voice wonderfully showcases the melodies and playful tones of the song, which looks at Taylor’s idea of a perfect guy. It has a really catchy chorus that mixes pop with light country. The verses even evoke a feeling of early Avril Lavigne albeit briefly. The lyrics also show a savvy understanding of her subject, something that is lacking in lots of music penned for younger artists by seasoned writers.
It’s radio friendly pop at its most polished. With the team of talent behind her, Taylor Bright is a name we will be seeing a whole lot more of in the future. Striped Socks goes some way to let us all know she is a talent worth watching and with a 7-track EP currently being worked on, we can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
