Can you believe it Sade have been around for over twenty five years? Since the release of their debut Diamond Life in 1984 the band have managed to get their 5 studio album into the top 10 Billboards top 200 album charts selling a total of more than 50 million albums worldwide to date. Soldier Of Love is their brand new album, which was recorded in England and produced by Mike Pela the bands longtime collaborator.

The Moon And The Sky encapsulates what love song should be about. Sade Abu’s voice is just mesmerizing like we remembered it, need I say more? Well if you just had your heart broken maybe avoid this one as it is heartbreaking to listen to. Lyrically it’s close to perfect and that Sade blues sound is sounding fresher then ever.

Soldier Of Love really is ridiculously perfect. The drums on it give the song a sense of urgency that match the lyrics to a scratch. The song goes on for almost six minutes and not one second of it is wasted.

Do you have those tissues handy? Well too bad cuz Morning Bird is on next and it will most certainly bring you to tears. Morning Bird is just breathtaking with its slow drums and piano. It’s a thing of beauty. Long Hard Road will also get you all teary eyed with its great Spanish guitar at the core of it.

Next is Babyfather a lesser tragic song on the album with a great Sade-esc bluesy sound. We like this one a lot for its harmonies and cheerfulness. Be That Easy and In Another Time are also very bluesy sounding but more Stateside then what we usually get from the band.

Soldier Of Love reaches its close with The Safest Place a simple guitar ballad.

We think Sade are here to show people how it’s done to be honest. These guys have been around since the eighties and with gems like Soldier Of Love it looks like they aren’t ready to stop producing amazing music. Well it’s safe to say that Soldier Of Love will stun more then one listener we have been captured heart and soul that’s for sure.
