Mamas Gun return with a double A side single with Wishing, a song not on the new album Routes To Riches coupled with album track Finger On It.
Having reached No.4 on the billboard charts in Japan and a short tour there last month, the band are set to return to London for a show at The Jazz Cafe this Wednesday 24th February prior to the release of this double A side.
Wishing is a slow paced ballad with lead singer Andy Platt's voice never more so charming as he croons away. It's very well paced giving Platt centre stage to stamp his authority on this song before the lead guitar kicks in and Platt then closes the song out.
This is juxtaposed against the funky and oh so catchy Finger On It with its Jamiroquai like feel and beat. It's such an upbeat and energetic piece that you can't help but tap your feet along to this. Let's hope the band continue to climb further and gain momentum with this latest release.
