After their debut Sicking And Creaming comes Japanese Voyeurs’ brand new single That Love Sound. The band that seems to be from a different era, when rock was still about noise and not about looks is getting better and better at perfecting its style and sound. EF got a listen to the new single and here is what we thought.
That Love Sound is rather different from what we have heard from Japanese Voyeurs so far. It’s still alternative rock and it’s still boasting big guitar riffs and yet its tamer. Maybe this is the softer side of Japanese Voyeurs? That Love Sound combines calm verses with a big loud chorus and works for us. Romily Alice’s voice of course is still what stands out on the song with her childish sound and cat like screams its like two people are living inside that body.
Second track Blush is as bleak as we know Japanese Voyeurs to be and has some brilliant rough guitars getting you sucked into it. If you liked the bands former stuff this is the track you’ll love on the single.
That Love Sound and Blush are a great combination Japanese Voyeurs talent when it comes to alternative rock. We still think that Romily Alice’s voice is a hit or miss and can or will annoy a lot of people but if you like it, you will love it!
