Enrique Iglesias has been quiet since the release of his Greatest Hits in 2008. Never one to stay away for too long, he’s back with the release of his ninth studio album Euphoria in July. To get fans excited about the album he’s releasing the album’s lead single I Like It featuring the ever-present (and oh-so-irritating) Pitbull.

Built around a sample of Lionel Richie’s All Night Long (All Night), I Like It continues to explore the Euro-pop dance sound that Iglesias has been experimenting with in recent years. As far removed as drippier offerings (and X-Factor soundtrack) Hero, I Like It is a raucous track that would get you shaking your ass on the dancefloor. The usual lyrical clichés are abound but it doesn’t really matter because Iglesias’ distinctive voice puts in a decent performance elevating the song above the average mark. As far as Pitbull is concerned we don’t really want to pass comment but suffice to say the version without him on is far superior.

I Like It is one of Iglesias’ better offerings in recent times. Whilst we miss the latin-tinged sound he came out with in the late 90s it’s nice to see an artist pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. The song is a promising taster for Euphoria which finds its UK release on Monday.
