Danielle Spencer has worked hard to make a name for herself. Being primarily known as Russell Crowe’s other half has probably hurt her chances of being taken seriously as a performer. Now is the time for a new audience to experience the seasoned performer as she is getting a big push from her record label right now… something which starts with the release of her latest single, On Your Side.
The song evokes a playful, melodic feeling as early Tori Amos tracks did. In fact, Amos is a clear influence on Danielle in this track, from the echoing vocals to the accomplished piano melodies that help the song build momentum. It showcases the songstress as a talented performer who has a lot to offer.
On Your Side will go some way to convert no-believers to her cause. Danielle Spencer is a talent worth keeping an eye on. She obviously has natural vocal talent and some bright ideas. It just remains to be seen if this will be enough to elevate her from the pack and make her music stand out at the second time of asking.
