Celine Dion is nothing short of a legend. One of the most successful female vocalists of all-time, sheās also one of the few that hasnāt been plagued down by trouble and strife over her career. Even more remarkable is that her incredible voice is still intact and she can sing as well today as she ever could. One of the few remaining true divas, Celine hasnāt released an English-language album since 2007ās Taking Chances and has spent years entertaining the crowds in Las Vegas. A year after her last French-language album Sans attendre, Celine is releasing new single Loved Me Back To Life, the title track from her new album.
Loved Me Back To Life is co-penned by the unstoppable Sia and takes Celine into newer musical territory. The mid-tempo song still utilises Celineās powerful voice, particularly on the chorus, but the verses see her using her lower range giving a raspier sound than weāve heard before. Musically the song combines contemporary beats with strings and guitar riffs bringing Celineās sound bang up-to-date whilst retaining all the things weāve loved about her for so many years. Dare we say thereās even a little bit of dubstep influence in the music if you listen carefully.
Quite honestly Celine could sing the phone book and it would be worth listening to. Her talent is so remarkable that itās a joy to hear a real singer in the midst of the often over-produced and auto-tuned clutter of the charts. She may be more of an album artist these days but thereās no denying the excitement and buzz around Celineās return. Loved Me Back To Life is a welcome return for the incredible Celine.
