Blake – So Happy single review

So Happy is the second single taken from Blake’s new album Start Over. The track was mixed by Ash Howes, who previously worked with pop super bands such as One Direction and The Saturdays, and famous Texas. The new single is a departure from the band’s classical sound and is distinctly more pop. We had a listen and here are our thoughts.

So Happy isn’t off to a good start, the verse sounds like the sort of thing we’d expect to hear at a musical and is almost too cheesy. However So Happy redeems itself during its chorus, indeed the song burst into a big chorus that is both catchy and infectious. The lyrics might not be poetry but they serve their purpose and work with the track perfectly.

Easy to remember and really vibrant Blake’s new sing So Happy is, after a rough start, a really enjoyable pop song. The boys vocals are also quite stunning even if they are quite different from their classical debut.
