Glitterbox Space, Ibiza review

Glitterbox was born in 2014 in Ibiza’s BOOOM but has since relocated to Space on Playa d’en Bossa. Glitterbox loves to embody that a dancefloor should stay the focus of a truly transformative night. Last season, Space was transformed into a glittering, hedonistic playground for adults and obviously showcased spectacular live events and most eclectic soundtrack found anywhere on the island.

Founded by DJ and Defected label-head Simon Dunmore, Glitterbox is without a doubt a party unlike any other in Ibiza. Having heard amazing things I could not help but to check it out when I visited the Island.

Legendary club, Space is famous around the world for its nights and has been making people around the world dream about the possibility to party in such an iconic place. I had heard all about the big Ibiza events and its impressive dancers but had to wait until Glitterbox to see what Ibiza nights are made of. With line-ups this season that include Dimitri from Paris and Basement Jaxx, Glitterbox is more than just disco balls and dancers.

I arrived at Space during Purple Disco Machine’s set and the place had completely been transformed with giant disco balls and dancing podiums. The atmosphere was brilliant at Space and every one seemed to be in great spirits, dancing along to the tunes and enjoying the incredible dancers. Purple Disco Machine stuck to the classics with a distinctly disco tone to his set Friday night. London’s infamous Hose Meat Disco was up next and ramped up the tempo, paving the way for David Morales, who did not disappoint punters.

The night ended on  a high note with people looking satisfied as the left the club.

For me the best club nights have to perfectly combine atmosphere, setting and sound and Glitterbox did just that. Certainly one of the funnest nights to be had on the Island.

Glitterbox takes place every Friday at Space until 23rd September.

DJs: David Morales, Horse Meat Disco, Purple Disco Machine, Mo’Funk

Performance date: 29th July 2016
