Our Top 10 Carrie Underwood songs

Carrie Underwood released her Greatest Hits: Decade #1 album this week and it got us thinking about which of her hits we love the most.

In her first 10 years, Carrie has released loads of singles and we’ve loved pretty much every single one of them. The American Idol winner has more than earned her place in the music industry and she’s collected a lot of awards to go with her millions of sales.

We’ve gone through all of her singles and chosen our 10 favourites. See if you agree and leave your comments in the usual place to let us know which Carrie hits you love.

10. Don’t Forget To Remember Me

We’re kicking off the countdown with one of Carrie’s most underrated singles. Don’t Forget To Remember Me was a perfect single choice from debut album Some Hearts and we love how it dealt with the huge life change Carrie was undergoing at the time. Family is at the core of the song and 10 years later Carrie is still just as family oriented as ever.

9. Temporary Home

Who else wells up a little when they hear this one? The 2009 single from Carrie’s third album Play On is one of her most heartfelt as she sings of the hardships in life and the ever-moving nature of our existence.

8. Blown Away

2012 single Blown Away is one of Carrie’s darkest moments and it’s a powerful tale of family despair. The accompanying video made a powerful statement and it’s one of the first times we’ve really seen Carrie step outside of her good girl image.

7. Just A Dream

Country music is often at its best when telling a story and none are more heartfelt than Just A Dream. The song tells the story of a woman left without her man after he’s killed during service. Many tears have been shed whilst listening to this one.

6. Undo It

This one hasn’t made many favourite Carrie song lists but we love it. Taken from Play On, Undo It is an uptempo crowd-pleaser that has a catchy chorus, a great hook and a solid vocal from Carrie.

5. Good Girl

The rocky edge of Good Girl made us stand up and listen when it was released in 2012 as the lead single from Carrie’s fourth album Blown Away. It’s become a favourite at karaoke and hints at a harder edged Carrie than we’ve heard before.

4. See You Again

Another heartfelt song in the countdown. This one sees Carrie dealing with the death of a loved one and is packed with lots of emotion. It’s a fantastic song, very emotional and Carrie delivering a cracking vocal performance.

3. So Small

Carrie’s powerful voice soars on this track. It’s an empowering statement about overcoming adversity and it’s one of Carrie’s finest vocals. It was the lead single from 2007’s Carnival Ride and it’s a powerhouse of a song.

2. Last Name

This is one of Carrie’s most fun tracks and it was released in 2008. Taken from second album Carnival Ride the song tells the aftermath of a drunken evening that resulted in a marriage and the inability to remember what your last name is. Whilst we’ve had some drunken evenings we’ve never done anything this wild and crazy.

1. Before He Cheats

This song had to be our number 1 choice. The 2006 single tells a tale of revenge against a lover who has treated their other half badly. Who hasn’t cranked this up when they’ve been wronged. Now where did we put that Louisville slugger?
