Songs to get you into the Christmas spirit

Christmas is less than a month away and we think it’s time everyone started getting into the festive spirit.

Sure there are plenty of Grinches out there who believe Christmas is a swear word until the 1st December but we think you can’t get festive early enough. With so much to do before now and the big day, it’s important to fully embrace the spirit of Christmas.

Get the mulled wine flowing, crank up your speakers and blast out some festive tunes. We’ve put together a list of 10 of our favourite festive songs to get you into the mood.

Ariana Grande – Santa Tell Me

The popstar has pretty much owned 2014 so it’s only fitting that she rounds out the year with an original Christmas track. Sexy, slinky and festive it’s the perfect way to kick off the festive season.

Christina Aguilera – Christmas Time

Taken from her under-rated 2000 Christmas album, My Kind of Christmas, Christmas Time is one of the album’s highlights. It should have been a single and we play every single Christmas without fail. Here’s a live performance for you to enjoy…

Dan + Shay – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Our favourite rising country duo have released their version of the yuletide classic in time for Christmas. We love their arrangement of the track and think it’s a stunner!

Faith Hill – Where Are You Christmas?

Mariah Carey co-wrote the song but it was Faith Hill who wrapped her lungs around it for the soundtrack to 2000’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Look out for a very young Taylor Momsen in the video.

Jessica Simpson – Let It Snow

Who knows what Jessica Simpson is doing these days but once she ruled the charts. She’s got two Christmas albums under her belt and this gem is taken from her 2004 album Rejoyce: The Christmas Album. We miss you Jessica!

Jewel – The Christmas Song

Folk songstress Jewel released Let It Snow: A Holiday Collection last year as the follow-up to her 1999 album Joy: A Holiday Collection. We’ve found a stunning live performance of the track that is sure to warm up your festive spirit.

Kelly Clarkson – Wrapped In Red

In 2013 Kelly Clarkson unleashed Wrapped In Red, her first Christmas album. This year she’s releasing the title track as her festive single and what a Christmas gift it is. Oh Kelly, we love you so!

Lady Antebellum – A Holly Jolly Christmas

Country trio Lady Antebellum released festive collection On A Winter’s Night in 2012 and A Holly Jolly Christmas is one of the album’s finest moments. It’s upbeat, infectious and destined to be blasted out whilst you decorate the tree.

Mariah Carey – All I Want For Christmas Is You

The undisputed Queen of Christmas with the best-loved Christmas song ever has to be in our list. Mariah Carey owns Christmas thanks to her smash-hit collection Merry Christmas from 1994. Does anyone get sick of hearing this song?

Michael Buble – Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

2011 album Christmas is one of Michael Buble’s best-selling and every year it shoots back up the charts. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town is one of the best moments on the record although to be honest Buble could sing anything and it would sound incredible.
