Oritse talks potential JLS reunion in the future

Former JLS star Oritse Williams has opened up about the potential of a JLS reunion in the future.

Talking to Free Radio, Oritse (now known as solo artist OWS) discussed the possibility of The X Factor boyband getting back together.

‘I always say, you never know what the future holds. Right now, everyoneā€™s got their individual responsibilities and 4 different diaries. In the immediate future itā€™s highly unlikely, but you never know. At the end of the day weā€™re all still cool. We still work with each other in different ways and in different capacities, on different projects. Nowā€™s the time to let everyone breathe individually.’

During the interview he talked about his own solo project OWS explaining that he never intended to go solo. ‘I didnā€™t originally plan, or didnā€™t know that I was going to do music solo. After JLS split I went into the studio and I continued to make music, I just couldnā€™t stay away from being creative for too long. It was my producers that said to me, ā€˜people are gonna want to hear thisā€™ and I said ā€˜I donā€™t want anyone to know itā€™s meā€™! Naturally in the studio process, I came up with OWS, and if I put it out on SoundCloud under OWS, no-oneā€™s going to know itā€™s me!’

Oritse got some big name support when he debuted OWS on SoundCloud in the shape of Kanye West and Jay-Z. ‘When I put the record on SoundCloud, we got a message from Kanye Westā€™s label ā€˜Good Musicā€™. They were like, we really love this, who are you, I wanna get in touch! They didnā€™t know I had any musical background at all. It was as if they were discovering a new artist for the first time. We thought they were lying, and that it wasnā€™t them, but it turned out it was them. Soon afterwards Kanyeā€™s rapper Pusha T, who was on Justin Timberlakeā€™s first single, got in touch, and they were like we wanna roll with you and collaborate with you. Soon after that it got through to Jay Zā€™s peopleā€™s ears, they leaked the record through Jay Zā€™s website Life + Times, and itā€™s been up up upwards from then!’
